Mental Health Treatment

Living with a mental health condition can feel isolating, even when the people around you care deeply. At Tovli Recovery, we meet each client with patience and clinical skill, helping them make sense of what they’re experiencing and start moving toward a life that feels manageable again.

We built our outpatient programs around real schedules – work, school, family – so that getting help doesn’t mean putting the rest of life on hold. From mood swings to intrusive thoughts to self-harming behaviors, our clinical team tailors treatment to the person in front of them, not a generic checklist of symptoms.

Comprehensive Mental Health Treatment at Tovli Recovery

Every client who comes to us starts with a real conversation, not a form. Our licensed clinicians take the time to understand what someone is actually experiencing before recommending a course of treatment – because two people with the same diagnosis rarely need the exact same plan.

Depending on the condition, treatment may draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, or a combination tailored to the individual. All of it happens through our outpatient model, which means clients keep their jobs, stay in school, and remain present for their families while doing the clinical work that creates lasting change.

Mood Disorder Treatment

Depression can drain the color out of things that used to matter. Bipolar disorder can swing a person between extremes that are exhausting to live with and hard for loved ones to understand. Both conditions respond well to consistent, structured treatment – which is exactly what we build for each client who comes to us with a mood disorder.

Treatment typically starts with a thorough clinical intake to understand symptom patterns, history, and any past treatment attempts. From there, clients move into a mix of individual therapy and, where useful, group sessions that reinforce mood-tracking and coping skills between appointments.

We also stay closely attuned to safety throughout treatment, since mood disorders can carry real risk if left unaddressed. Our clinicians are trained to recognize warning signs early and adjust care accordingly.

If a mood disorder has been running your life longer than you’d like to admit, we’d like to help you change that.

Behavioral Disorder Treatment

Behavioral disorders show up differently in every client – impulsivity, defiance, difficulty regulating reactions, or patterns that create friction at work, at home, or in relationships. What they tend to share is a gap between what someone wants to do and what they actually do under pressure.

Our clinicians work with clients to map out the specific triggers and situations where these patterns take over, then build practical strategies to interrupt them in the moment. This isn’t about willpower – it’s about giving the brain new options when old habits used to be automatic.

Family sessions are often part of the process, since behavioral patterns rarely exist in isolation from the people closest to the client. Helping families understand what’s happening – and how to respond – tends to speed up progress considerably.

Change is possible, even for patterns that have been around for years.

Anxiety Disorder Treatment

Some clients describe anxiety as a low hum that never fully quiets down. Others experience it as sudden, physical panic that arrives without warning. Generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, and specific phobias all fall under our care, and each gets a treatment plan shaped around how it actually shows up for that person.

A large part of our work involves helping clients understand the physiology behind anxiety — why the body reacts the way it does — because that understanding alone often reduces the fear of the fear itself. From there, we build in gradual, supported exposure to avoided situations, paired with skills for managing the physical symptoms as they arise.

Most clients are surprised by how much is possible once anxiety stops being the thing making every decision for them.

Personality Disorder Treatment

Personality disorders are often misunderstood, even by the people living with them. Borderline, narcissistic, avoidant, and other personality-related presentations tend to involve deeply ingrained ways of relating to oneself and others — patterns that formed for real reasons and won’t shift overnight, but can shift with the right support.

Our clinicians frequently draw on Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills training, which gives clients concrete tools for managing intense emotion and improving how they navigate relationships. This is paired with individual therapy focused on the specific patterns that are causing the most difficulty in a client’s life right now.

Progress here tends to be gradual and non-linear, and we structure treatment with that reality in mind rather than expecting quick fixes.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Treatment

OCD convinces people that rituals are the only thing standing between them and disaster. Whether it’s checking, counting, contamination fears, or intrusive thoughts that feel impossible to sit with, the compulsions almost always end up taking more from someone’s life than they give back in relief.

We treat OCD primarily through Exposure and Response Prevention, the most well-supported approach for the condition. Clients work directly with a clinician to face feared situations gradually, without performing the usual compulsion – building tolerance for the discomfort instead of avoiding it. This is paced carefully and never rushed beyond what a client is ready for.

Alongside ERP, clients learn how OCD operates in the brain, which helps take some of the shame out of a condition that often carries a lot of it.

Self Harm Treatment

Reaching out about self-harm takes more courage than most people realize, and we don’t take that lightly. Our approach starts with understanding – not lectures – because self-harming behavior is almost always a way of coping with something underneath it that hasn’t had anywhere else to go.

Treatment typically combines individual therapy with concrete safety planning, giving clients a clear, personalized plan for the moments when urges are strongest. Many clients also benefit from Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills, which build alternative ways to tolerate distress over time.

We involve families where appropriate, offering guidance so loved ones can respond in ways that actually help rather than accidentally increasing shame or secrecy.
